JEWELRY CARE

Nicéphore Imanuür jewelry is made to live, move and evolve with time.

Each piece is produced through artisanal processes. Surface marks, oxidation, patina, polishing variations and changes in sheen may appear or evolve with wear. These changes are part of the life of the object.

Some areas may darken. Others may brighten with friction. Edges, raised surfaces and contact points may polish naturally over time. Oxidized or patinated areas may slowly fade, shift or become more irregular depending on use.

This natural evolution is not considered a defect.

GENERAL CARE

Handle your jewelry with care.

Avoid impact, pressure, bending, dropping or scratching your pieces against hard surfaces.

Remove your jewelry before sleeping, exercising, swimming, showering, using a sauna or steam room, cleaning, applying perfume, cosmetics, lotions, oils or any chemical product.

Avoid prolonged exposure to water, sweat, chlorine, salt water, sulfur, perfume, cosmetics, detergents and chemicals. These elements may darken the metal, alter the surface, remove patina or affect the finish.

CLEANING

Clean your jewelry regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.

For light cleaning, gently wipe the surface after wear to remove fingerprints, dust, sweat or residue.

For deeper cleaning, use lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap only when necessary. Clean gently with your fingers or a very soft cloth, then dry the piece immediately and completely.

Do not leave jewelry soaking in water.

Do not use abrasive cloths, polishing paste, toothpaste, baking soda, lemon juice, vinegar, chemical cleaners, ultrasonic cleaners or silver dip unless specifically advised by us or by a professional jeweler.

Aggressive cleaning methods may scratch the surface, remove intentional oxidation, alter patina or damage the finish.

BRASS, BRONZE AND COPPER-BASED ALLOYS

Brass, bronze and tombac are copper-based alloys. When exposed to air, humidity, skin contact and time, they naturally oxidize and develop a patina.

This patina may appear brown, black, reddish, blue-green or green depending on the metal, the environment and the way the piece is worn.

This surface evolution is normal. In some cases, the patina forms a natural outer layer that protects the deeper layers of the metal. Some people prefer to preserve this aged surface. Others prefer a cleaner, brighter appearance.

If you wish to reduce or restore the patina on a brass, bronze or copper-based piece, we recommend visiting a professional jeweler rather than using acidic or abrasive cleaning methods at home.

Do not use lemon juice, vinegar, baking soda paste or harsh polishing products unless specifically advised by a professional. These methods may alter the finish, remove intentional aging or create uneven marks.

SILVER JEWELRY

Silver may naturally tarnish over time when exposed to air, humidity, sweat, cosmetics, perfume or chemicals.

This is normal.

If you prefer a cleaner surface, gently polish the piece with a soft jewelry cloth. Be careful around oxidized, engraved or textured areas, as excessive polishing may remove intentional darkened details.

For heavily tarnished or oxidized pieces, we recommend contacting us or visiting a professional jeweler rather than using chemical cleaning methods at home.

OXIDIZED AND PATINATED JEWELRY

Oxidation and patina are surface treatments. They are not permanent in the same way as the metal itself.

With time, wear and friction, these finishes may change. Raised areas may become brighter. Recessed areas may remain darker. Contact with water, sweat, perfume, cosmetics or chemicals may accelerate this evolution.

Do not attempt to re-oxidize, chemically treat or aggressively polish your jewelry at home.

If you wish to restore, deepen or adjust the patina, we recommend contacting us or visiting a professional jeweler. A professional can clean, polish or re-oxidize the piece with the appropriate tools and techniques.

Improper treatment may permanently alter the surface.

STORAGE

Store each piece separately in a dry, dark place.

We recommend keeping your jewelry in its original pouch, box or a separate soft cloth bag to avoid scratches and friction.

Do not store multiple pieces together without protection.

Avoid humid environments, bathrooms, direct sunlight and prolonged contact with other metals.

NATURAL WEAR

Scratches, dents, deformation, fading of patina, changes in oxidation, loss of shine or surface evolution caused by normal wear, impact, friction, improper use, exposure to water, perfume, sweat, cosmetics, chemicals or poor storage are not considered manufacturing defects.

Each piece will carry the trace of its use.

If your jewelry requires deep cleaning, polishing, restoration or re-oxidation, contact us or visit a professional jeweler.
